Mother was the treasure Time gave me, but kept not
A blessing that couldn’t walk with me for long
A comfort, a silent assurance, a magic
That filled my life for twenty years …
The time I hold within like a prayer.
Divine and blessed, beyond my words .
For, to me my mother was the world
An unchallenged figure I worship within
Gone beyond the senses I perceive,
As my heart misses her every moment I live through,
Those moments of pride she missed to see
On occasions when I lived the dream she left for me
Yet in my inner world I see the smile,
Assuring me to walk forth and never to pause
For in all her prayers she has set a wish
A silent prayer that follows my path.
The void remains for ever, the foot prints of destiny
I call it the law of Nature, eternal, unchanging
For now, I love her beyond my mortal senses
Knowing these human eyes see the most limited
I hear her voice deep within my memories
I feel her presence clear, I read her thoughts
I walk along those roads she once walked in my age
Knowing her better, loving her dearer.
When life gets me into tougher roles
To shoulder tougher responsibilities,
When I feel the roads empty, dull and lonely
I send my thoughts back to the closed doors of memories
I become the girl on her lap secured by an embrace, a kiss
I feel her visions across the horizons,
the dreams she ever had
That’s the gift I hold for my mother,
to live the dreams she left behind
Until I join her in another world,
to be her child once again.
Written long ago ... But i just feel like posting it again . On this mother's day .
